Privacy Policy

Talk to Avery ("we," "us," "our") operates this website and the MindCosmos app (together, the "Service"). This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what choices you have. We built this Service around the belief that emotional honesty requires trust — so we've tried to make this policy plain, specific, and honest in return.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us directly

• Waitlist signup: your email address.
• Booking a session with Avery: your name, email address, preferred day/time, and any optional note you include.
• MindCosmos account (once live): a first name (optional) and birthday (optional) — both are explicitly optional in the app, by design.
• Content you create in the app: Companion conversations, Journal entries. See Section 3 for The Between specifically, which is handled differently.

Information collected automatically

• Basic technical data (browser type, device type, approximate location from IP address) for security and to keep the site working correctly.
• Your language preference (English/Vietnamese) and light/dark display preference, stored locally in your browser.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To notify you when MindCosmos launches, if you joined the waitlist.
• To schedule and confirm sessions with Avery.
• To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
• To personalize your experience in the app (for example, referencing your name or birthday if you've chosen to provide them).
• To communicate with you about your account or a session — never to sell to you aggressively, and never to create artificial urgency.
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or security issues.

We do not use your journal entries, conversation content, or anything you share with Companion to train external AI models outside what's necessary to generate your own responses, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. The Between — What We Deliberately Don't Save

The Between is a release space in MindCosmos built on one specific promise: what you say there is not recorded, saved, or stored — not by us, not by anyone. This is a genuine technical and product commitment, not just messaging. If our implementation of this ever changes, we will update this section and notify users clearly before the change takes effect, not after.

4. When We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these circumstances:

• Service providers who help us operate (form processing, hosting, email delivery) — see Section 5.
• Avery herself, for the specific purpose of preparing for and conducting a session you've booked.
• Legal requirements, if required to comply with a valid legal process, or to protect someone's safety in a genuine emergency.
• Business transfers, if Talk to Avery is ever acquired or merged — users would be notified before any transfer of personal data.

5. Third-Party Services We Use

• FormSubmit.co — processes waitlist signups and booking requests submitted through this website. Their own privacy practices apply to data in transit through their service.
• Google Fonts — loads the typefaces used on this site; Google may log IP addresses as part of standard font delivery.
• Vercel — hosts this website and, once live, the MindCosmos backend.

This list will grow as MindCosmos adds features (payment processing, email marketing, analytics) — this policy will be updated accordingly before any new service goes live.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

This site uses browser local storage (not tracking cookies) to remember your language and theme preference. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Data Retention

• Waitlist emails are kept until MindCosmos launches, or until you ask us to delete them.
• Booking requests are kept for as long as reasonably needed for scheduling and record-keeping, then deleted or anonymized.
• Account data (once the app is live) is kept until you delete your account, at which point we will delete your personal data within [30 days — confirm with legal counsel], except where we're legally required to retain it longer.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security — if we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 13.

10. Children's Privacy

This Service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. International Users

Talk to Avery serves users in multiple countries, including Vietnamese-speaking users. If you're located outside the country where our servers are based, your information may be transferred to and processed in that country. [This section needs jurisdiction-specific legal language — particularly if you have EU or UK users subject to GDPR, or need to address Vietnam's Personal Data Protection Decree.]

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users directly rather than relying on a silent update.
